Tip for Teaching Homeschool Science: Keep a small box handy with these items inside: paper clips (in two different sizes), rubber bands, scotch tape, scissors, index cards, string, copy paper, hole punch, crayons, and a stapler. Label your box Flying Paper Machine Equipment. Pull the box out, add kids, and stand back.
Whenever I do have to have a difficult discussion with one of my sons, I will often lay out the reason that I am upset or said another way, the purpose that I want to achieve. For example, I might say, Look, you and I both know that I want you to always be safe. Now we may disagree on what is safe enough, but I think we both agree on that goal. I may think you have to hold my hand to cross the street until you are 18 years old, you may think that bungee jumping from a helicopter over a minefield at age 8 is not unsafe. But we both agree that you should be safe. Correct? Once we set up a common goal, we can discuss and compromise on what is safe behavior.
Can you see how the family meeting brings your family together too? Members feel bonded within the family and protective of each other. They wont want their sibling bullied by another kid. The family meeting promotes their love. It teaches them to become confident communicators too.Todays kids are digital natives they are growing up in a time where ipads, smartphones, and gaming consoles are as commonplace as traditional toys. But just because they may be more knowledgeable in navigating the latest devices doesnt mean theyre wiser. As a parent, your guidance is still utterly crucial in keeping them safe, even and especially when they are engaged in a seemingly innocent activity such as playing online games.
Kids fitness isn't just about kids running around the park or riding their bike down the street after school. These things are important but in isolation don't consider all the elements of kids fitness. If we want to get the best out of our kids, kids fitness needs to be holistic and need to consider the child's mental attitude, mental state, dietary requirements and fitness capacity.Drawing a line between what is right and what is wrong is the responsibility by parents to their children. This also goes with what type of movies and television shows the children should watch and what are not. But more importantly, the responsibility of choosing the right kids games solely relies to the parents. Since kids would want to play, play, and play some more, providing them with toys and kids gadgets are essential. And while studies suggest children who play more are healthier than those who do not, it does not give children the freedom to play any type of game they like.
