Why is this important? How much time a week do you spend cleaning? Doing laundry? Planning meals? How would you like to cut this time in half AND have a cleaner house?
When you ask your child to do something, and he comes back with Do it yourself, I think your response should be very clear: I'm not going to do it myself. I told you to do it, and you will have the following consequence until you do it. For younger kids, you might take away a toy until theyve complied.
